Saxlingham Meadow & Ruins

(Last visited August 2020)
I knew there were some ruins somewhere around Saxlingham Nethergate but wasn’t sure where – then I saw them pop up on a post by my friend Neil from Escape Trails UK and he kindly plotted me a short route! Which I tweaked as I spotted that I could incorporate the meadow too (which is apparently rife with meadow flowers in the summer!).

It’s a lovely little walk through the meadow and my girl loved the play area. To get to the ruins, you can either cross the road from the meadow and go down Plummers Lane (noting there is a short 10-15m stretch on the road… although we were able to hug the grassy verge) or follow the path opposite the playground and hug the allotments / treeline. The meadow and play area alone would be a nice little walk for a toddler. The ruins were fantastic though. Had to tear her away! Great play area at the rec ground, only downside was toilets being shut due to Covid.
