A sweet little walk in Thorpe! I never knew this place existed. Most of this walk is a lovely grassy common but with an additional small river trail.
It’s tucked away off the Yarmouth Road and it’s only small – about half an hour’s walk (if you don’t have a kid who wants to climb every single tree or turn over every stone!). The kissing gates at the entrance are a bit of an obstruction for pushchairs but if you could lift one over the barriers, the walk is generally flat and accessible across mown meadow grass. The kids loved exploring the little river trail (this bit not for pushchairs and a bit overgrown in the summer), and a little paddle area.
Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of dog mess along the main meadow trail so watch where you’re walking. Loads of butterflies in the summer and we saw a deer – right in the middle of the day! A great place if you just want to get outside for a little while.
