Southrepps – what a great little place. It’s a 3.5 mile Norfolk Trails circular walk for the whole route (that’s a great one for older kids), or for little legs you can do a shorter version and just explore the common and the Warren.
The common is boardwalk and halfway through there is a beautiful pooh stick bridge over Fox’s Beck – it was absolutely stunning in the sunshine. Then you have varied landscape as you enter the Warren. Pine cones to collect, cooler in the heat – we loved the change in terrain. Some of the route is along quiet country roads if you stick to the route, but we were comfortable walking with a 4 year old along them. But you could do an out and back for an off-roader. There’s a kissing gate at the entrance to the Warren which I didn’t think you’d be able to squeeze a pushchair through, although I’ve subsequently been told you can squeeze a small pushchair through. However, with a pushchair, you could combine the boardwalk and road to do a circular walk, or just a short out and back through the common. There is also a set of swings and slide opposite the school. Dogs are allowed on leads on this walk.
If you did a shorter version of the walk you can drive up to Upper Southrepps afterwards and park at the village hall – nearby there is THE BEST play area for kids (no dogs in there though) and additionally there’s a kid friendly, dog friendly pub called the Vernon Arms – we stopped there for lunch and they were so friendly and it has great baby change facilities.
